Activities / Attractions
Camping: At our lodge on Camping Lake near Ear Falls, Ontario, we have camping facilities with central showers, electricity (generated power) and running water for our campers. We have RV sites or camp in a tent at our campground.
Fishing Trip: For that Ontario Fishing Trip you can leave our lodge on Camping Lake and can travel for over 40 miles through the English River System to other nearby lakes. If it is Walleye, Northern Pike or Bass Fishing our lakes have the one you are looking for.
Hunting Trips: At JR's Portage Bay Camp we have moose hunts, black bear hunts, or duck and grouse hunts. We are located in the Ear Falls, Ontario area where bear and moose are abundant. Come and try for that Trophy Moose or Bear.
Canoeing: At our lodge we have a canoe available those of you who want to enjoy paddling around Camping Lake.
Nature Photography: Nature photography is only a snap away. Bring your camera - there's always wildlife to be seen as well as beautiful sunsets.
Birdwatching: Birdwatching, wildlife viewing go hand in hand in Northwestern Ontario where there is an abundance of birds and animal for you to enjoy.
Angling
Walleye: Northwestern Ontario is known for it's walleye fishing and the Chukuni River,English River and Cedar River Systems offer the some great walleye fishing. That trophy walleye is a possibility.
Northern Pike: Northern Pike fishing on Camping Lake near Ear Falls, Ontario and the additional 40 miles of chains to other lakes provide some of the best northern pike fishing in Northwestern Ontario
Smallmouth Bass: Smallmouth bass can be found on Camping Lake or on the numerous River chains such as English River, Chukuni River or the Cedar River Systems, giving you plenty of choice for your bass fishing vacation.
Perch: Perch fishing is plentiful in the Camping Lake area of Northwestern Ontario
Muskie: While on your canadian fishing trip to our resort on the English River System try your hand at muskie fishing.

Black Bear: At our resort we offer a fall black bear hunting package. We have baited stands that are included in your bear hunt. Northwestern Ontario has ample Black Bear and the sucess rate is good.
Moose: At Jr's Portage Bay Camp on Camping Lake near Ear Falls, Ontario we offer moose hunting packages. Moose are plentiful in our area of Northwestern Ontario and a trophy moose could be a likely possiblity.
Grouse: There are many logging roads near our lodge that you can walk or take an ATV down and hunt for grouse. Both Spruce and Ruffed Grouse are plentiful in the area.
Marine
Fishing Boats: Our fishing package includes 16 or 17' fishing boats with either 20 or 40 HP motors for your fishing enjoyment on the English River System. We also have boat rentals for those of you who may not want the full package.
Paddle Boats: AT JR's Portage Bay Camp for those of you on your family vacation on camping lake, we have paddle boats for the youngsters or the young at heart.

Cabin Rentals: JR's Portage Bay Camp offers Ontario cabins rentals on the shores of Camping Lake, which is part of the English River System. Our housekeeping cabins can accomodate up to 9 person and are all fully modern, clean & comfortable.
Housekeeping Cabins: We have fully modern comfortable housekeeping cabins facing Portage Bay on Camping Lake in a region of many waters with the great Canadian forest all around us.
Cottage Rentals: For that Canadian fishing vacation we have fully modern, comfortable cottage rentals facing Portage Bay on Camping Lake, part of the English River System near Ear Falls, Ontario.
Campgrounds: At JR's Portage Bay Camp on Camping Lake we offer 7 campgrounds sites that offer partial service for you trailer or RV, or bring your tent and enjoy a relaxing fishing trip to Canada.
Family Vacations: For your family vacation bring the whole family. Fish the English River Sytem,camping lake or pakwash lake. The swimming is great as there are many sand beaches on all the nearby lakes. Ear Falls is just a short drive away for a day of shopping
Hunting: Jr's Portage Bay Camp has hunting licences available at our lodge located on the English River Sytem.
Drive In Access: Drive in to our resort located on Camping Lake. We are off the beaten path, just off Hwy 105 approxiamately13 miles west of Ear Falls, out in the bush country, away from the busy marts of trade.
Pet Friendly: JR's Portage Bay Camp has a pets allowed policy, but we ask that you keep your pets with you and not running loose at the lodge.
Handicapped: At our Lodge on Camping Lake four of our cabins have handicapped facilities with wheelchair entrances. Our cottages will accommodate from 4 to 9 persons.
Satellite TV: To keep up on the news at home while on your canadian vacation we have satellite tv in our cabins.
Internet: Jr's Portage Bay Camp located on the English River System has wireless internet for your convenience.
On-site Bait & Tackle: At our lodge we have live bait & tackle for your fishing needs.
On-site Groceries: At JR's Portage Bay Camp we have some on-site grocieres, for those few items you may have forgotten. If we don't have them Ear Falls is just a few minutes away on Hwy 105
