Activities / Attractions
Fishing Trip: A fishing trip to Pickerel Arm Camp can offer you a fly in to one of our outpost cabins or a stay at our main base camp on Minnitaki Lake.
Hunting Trips: We offer moose, black bear and bird hunting for your canadian hunting trip, we can combine a fall fishing trip with a moose hunt or even a grouse hunt.
Angling
Northern Pike: Many of our outpost lakes such as Otatakan or Fawcett Lakes are well known for their large Northern Pike. Otatakan is often referred to as a lake where you have to stand behind a tree to bait your hook!
Walleye: We have several outpost lakes that offer great walleye fishing. Try your hand on Wapesi River or Springpole lake. You will be landing all sizes and a trophy walleye is a great possiblity.
Muskie: Tuk Bay on Lac Seul is known for trophy walleye and northern pike, and the avid musky sportsman can find trophy muskie fishing just minutes away.
Smallmouth Bass: For bass fishing our main base camp is the place to vacation, Lyons Bay on Minnitaki Lake offers smallmouth bass of trophy size.
Perch: Perch are plentiful in many of our outpost lakes as well as Minnitaki Lake and make a great pan fish for a shore lunch.
Lake Trout: Pickerel Arms Camp is located on Minnitaki Lake in the Sioux Lookout, Ontario area. From Moonlight Falls near the south end to a deep water haven for lake trout at Lyons Bay the lake has an excellent variety of structure.
Hunting
Moose: Our camp in Sioux Lookout, Ontario is pleased to offer a choice of two moose hunting plans to fit a party's preference. Hunters have had a very high success rate over the years on our guided hunts; a guide is suggested to first-time hunting parties.
Black Bear: Black bear hunting can be combined with a fall fishing trip to canada, when your stay at our lodge on Minnitaki Lake in the Sioux Lookout area.
Birds: If you prefer bird hunting our area can offer both grouse and duck hunting.
Marine
Fishing Boats: We have several options for fishing boat rentals, we have stalkers as well as outfitters, choose the one that suits your needs.
Paddle Boats: At our main base camp our bay provides swimming and use of the camp paddle boat.
Services / Accommodations
Housekeeping Cabins: Our housekeeping cabins on Minnitaki Lake are fully modern with all the comforts of home and our outpost cabin rentals all include comfortable sleeping, solar powered lighting, hot water, shower, and radio phone to contact the main base.
Outposts: We have fly in 9 outpost cabins each on a different lakes such as Fawcett, Kabikwabik, Springpole or Tuk Bay and Wapesi River on Lac Seul making your fishing trip to canada one you will remember for many years.
Cabin Rentals: Our cabins rentals comfortably sleep 4 - 6 people with a fully equipped kitchen, double or single beds & linens, bathroom with shower, electric heat,& a screened porch. Everything you need for housekeeping while on your fishing vacation is included.
Cottage Rentals: Our cottage rentals at our main base camp on Minnitaki Lake have accomodations for any party from 4-10 people. Our cottages on our fly in outpost lakes also vary in size from 2-3 people per cabin to 8-10 to accomodate any size fishing party.
Fly In Access: We have 9 outpost cabins that are all on different fly in lakes in northwestern ontario for your fishing vacation to Canada.
Drive In Access: Our main base camp is also a drive in resort on Minnitaki Lake. If you come through International Falls, Mn you will take hwy 11 from Fort Frances, hwy 502 to Dryden, hwy 17 to Dinorwic and then hwy 72 to Sioux Lookout to our lodge.
Family Vacations: Our lodge on Minnitaki Lake is the perfect spot for a family vacation, our bay provides swimming, use of the camp paddle boat, fish caught right off the docks. Our outpost cabin on Tuk Bay on Lac Seul has a long sand beach for a more private vacation
On-site Bait & Tackle: At our main base camp on Minnitaki Lake we have an on-site bait & tackle shop for your convenience.
Fishing and Hunting: When your arrive at our lodge for your fishing or hunting trip, we have both fishing and hunting licences available for you.
Pet Friendly: Pickerel Arm Camp have a pets allowed policy for those of you who wish to bring them on their family vacation.
On-site Groceries: While on your vacation at Pickerel Arm Camp and you find that you are short of a grocery item you need we do have on-site groceries in a limited supply on hand.
